DIY Kokedama
A Creative Workshop
Saturday, March 11th ,12 pm, $49
The centuries old art of Kokedama is a form of Japanese garden art that is tied to the practice of bonsai. The name Kokedama literally translates from “koke” meaning moss, and “dama” meaning ball. The roots of a plant are bound within a ball of clay soil, which is wrapped in moss and secured with a twine or similar binding. They can be fixed to a platform, placed in a decorative bowl, or suspended from string. This interesting and fun planting method is perfect to create a personalized gift, or can simply make an interesting accent for a favorite plant specimen. You can create a single showstopper piece, or even make an indoor hanging garden. Each piece is unique and brings such a beautiful touch of nature into your space.
In this workshop you will practice the art of Kokedama yourself, creating your own custom piece to take home. We’ll provide instruction, assistance, and all materials! Space is limited, Registration is required.

Planting with Mom
A Mother’s Day Celebration
Sunday, May 14th, all day – FREE
Every year we celebrate our moms with a very special day. At this time of year, the nursery is in tip top condition with our greenhouses bursting with magnificent natural beauty and scents. Our locally famous hanging baskets and patio pots are ready for their summer homes and there is just a buzz and intoxication flowing through our 10 acres that makes this event so popular.
We give all moms a FREE 4 pack of flowers and if you bring the littles with you they can plant them in a pot (you can bring one or purchase a new one) for you on your special day! Light refreshments will be served.
