Additional Information:
Unique Features: This is another columnar variety of Asian White birch but it is narrower and a little slower growing than the Dakota Pinnacle which is its parent. Birches, by their nature, have shallow and wide spread root systems and are adapted to areas with consistent snow cover in the winter so in our area which has neither consistent snow cover nor consistently cold temperatures winter watering is crucial for survival. The Parkland Pillar is not resistant to the Bronze Birch borer so the healthier the tree is the less likely it is to fall prey to this pest.
