Malus 'Coralcole'

Unique Features: The Coralburst Crabapple has a ‘head’ grafted onto a standard trunk (usually about 4’). The head grows slowly into a bowl shape which, when it’s growing on top of the 4’ trunk, gives the overall tree a goblet shape. It has tiny, dark green leaves and in spring semi-double rose-colored flowers open from coral pink to ruby red buds. The Coralburst produces abundant, ½’’ diameter bronze red colored fruit which persists on the tree until late fall. This is a perfect size for the birds, who will take from the tree or from the ground. The Coralburst has excellent resistance to Fire Blight. Double grafted crabapples such as the Coralburst are usually smaller, and impart a more formal look to the landscape. This is another crabapple that is approved by the Town of Parker.
