Crabapple/ Golden Raindrops
- Leaves turn from rich green into tones of red, golds, and purples in the fall
- Yellow fruits contrast beautifully against fall colored leaves, and stay through winter
- Low resistance to Fire Blight
Malus transitoria ‘Schmidtcutleaf’
White
Red, Purple
Unique Features: The Golden raindrops grows moderately, forming an upright vase shape with slender branches and a medium canopy. The delicate medium green leaves are cut into 3 to 5 lobes and can be red gold to orange in the fall. The fruit continues with the delicate motif; it is yellow (sometimes aging to more of an orange red) and ¼’’ in diameter, a size easily taken by the birds. Unfortunately the Golden Raindrops has low resistance to Fire Blight and should be monitored during the growing season any symptoms of this disease.
