Unique Features: The Lollipop Crabapple grows moderately into a spherical shape and is most often grafted on top of a 4’ standard trunk. The small green leaves add a touch of delicacy to this petite tree. The single white fragrant spring flowers are in clusters covering most of the tree. Needless to say this tree is attractive to pollinators. The blooms are followed by bright red 3/8’’ diameter fruits which show well against the yellow fall color, and hang on the tree into winter. The Lollipop has good, if not excellent, disease resistance. The Lollipop will stay relatively small and judicious pruning can develop it into either a spherical or hemi-spherical shape. Because Fire Blight is a possibility in our area it is best to prune crabapples during the dormant season.
