Malus ‘Perfect Purple’
Pink
Bronze, Purple
Unique Features: The Perfect Purple Crabapple grows moderately into an upright oval form, becoming more rounded with age. The foliage emerges dark purple and stays that color through the growing season until finally turning redder in the fall. In spring the single flowers are a deep pink to rose red. The fruit is purple-red, ½’’ in diameter and drops with the leaves in the fall. The Perfect Purple Crabapple will need some monitoring for Fire Blight infection, but is still a better choice than the purple leafed plums for an ornamental tree. All crabapples are on the Town of Parker Preferred Species list.
