Unique Features: The Royal Raindrops grows fairly quickly into an upright oval shape. The leaves come out with a purple color, and bronze slightly as summer progresses. They develop a 3 lobed cutleaf shape as they mature. The spring flowers are a deep magenta-pink, to almost red. The tiny fruit (1/4”) is red-purple, and persists into winter. This tree also has very dark bark with prominent horizontal white markings for added winter interest. The Royal Raindrops Crabapple has excellent to good resistance to all major crabapple diseases. All crabapples are on the Town of Parker Preferred species list.
