Unique Features: The Sugar Thyme Crabapples grows fairly quickly, into a spreading oval shape. Unfortunately, this faster growth rate comes at the expense of longevity. These crabapples seldom live past 20 years, while most others can easily surpass 50 years in age. The leaves are slender, glossy and dark green. The clusters of fragrant white spring flowers open from pink buds. The ½’’ ruby red fruit hangs on the tree through fall and winter, providing both a splash color and food for overwintering birds. The Sugar Thyme Crabapple has excellent to good disease resistance. Consider planting a Ruby Dayze or a Showtime to complement the Sugar Thyme. All Crabapples are approved by the Town of Parker.
