Additional Information:
Unique Features: The Velvet Pillar Crabapple grows moderately into an upright, narrow oval form. The pointy leaves emerge dark purple and stay that color until fall brings out more red tones. The clusters of fragrant pink spring flowers open from dark red buds. The 3/8” fruit is a showy crimson red color and persists into late fall. The Velvet Pillar has excellent to good disease resistance. Because of its darker presence due to its dark foliage, it could be offset with an Adirondack Crabapple which has a similar size and shape, but a lighter presence. All crabapples are on the Town of Parker approve species list.
