Ulmus 'Frontier'
Red, Purple
Unique Features: The Frontier Elm is a hybrid elm that has good resistance to Dutch elm disease and two other pests that cause cosmetic damage. It grows rapidly into an upright form, pyramidal in youth and spreading with age. The leaves are smaller than those of an American elm, but unique for an elm as they have a red-purple fall color. As with any vigorously growing tree it will benefit from regular pruning. It is on the Parker Preferred Species List and is suitable for lawn or street plantings.
