Unique Features: Little Bunny is another very small Fountain grass which originated from a chance seedling from Hameln and is the ‘parent’ of Burgundy Bunny. Little Bunny does produce viable seeds and can reseed. This is a warm season grass so doesn’t start growing in the spring until the soil temperature is 50 degrees for several weeks. In summer the very narrow leaves form small clumps with the blooms starting in late June to July. The flowers emerge green quickly turning to 3’’ to 4’’ creamy white seed heads which can a pink tint. As the seed heads age they open more and take on a tan color and can be dead headed to slow down any reseeding. Fall brings a golden russet color to both the foliage and the seed heads and with the first hard freeze the heads shatter and the foliage turns to a beige color. Little Bunny is deer and rabbit resistant.
