Prunus persica ‘Pix Zee’
Pink
Yellow
Unique Features: Most sources consider this dwarf tree to be zone 6, which means it would need extra protection in the wintertime. Since this is a very dwarf tree it could be planted in a large pot and moved to a protected area as the weather dictates. This is particularly important during the spring since the Pix Zee has a very early bloom time (mid-March to early April) and the flowers need to be protected from freezing in order to get fruit. Even though the Pix Zee is a dwarf tree, it still produces full size peaches, so fruit thinning will be especially important. The fruit is red over yellow with freestone yellow flesh that has sweet flavor. The fruit matures in late June to mid-July.
