Unique Features: This tree is named for its likeness to a Christmas tree.  The Tannenbaum is an intermediate growing evergreen tree which develops into in a tidy pyramidal form and has the cold and drought tolerance of the rest of the mugo family. It has a more open form than its cousins La Cabana and Big Tuna.  Candle pruning can help control size and increase foliage density if needed but proper planning can eliminate some of this work.  The Tannenbaum holds its deep green foliage color well over the coldest of the winter months and develops upright white candles to usher in spring.
